Ms. MURKOWSKI submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to amendment SA 4732 proposed by Mr. Husted to the amendment SA 4420 proposed by Mr. Thune (for Mr. Schmitt) to the bill S. 1383, to establish the Veterans Advisory Committee on Equal Access, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: On page 7, strike lines 21 through 25 and insert the following: (d) Effective Date.-- (1) In general.--This section and the amendments made by this section shall take effect 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, and shall apply with respect to elections for Federal office held on or after such date. (2) Conforming amendments.-- (A) Section 303A(f) of the Help America Vote Act of 2002, as added by subsection (a), is amended by striking ``1 day'' and inserting ``1 year''. (B) Section 311(b)(4) of the Help America Vote Act of 2002, as added by subsection (b), is amended by inserting ``1 year after'' after ``303A,''. ______
