Mr. Kennedy of New York (for himself, Mrs. Dingell, and Mr. Langworthy) 
 introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on 
  Science, Space, and Technology, and in addition to the Committee on 
  Transportation and Infrastructure, for a period to be subsequently 
   determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such 
 provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

                                 A BILL

 
     To extend the authorization for the centers of excellence for 
stormwater control infrastructure technologies and related matters, and 
                          for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Stormwater Treatment Optimization, 
Resilience, and Management With Academic Technological Expertise and 
Research Act'' or the ``STORMWATER Act''.

SEC. 2. STORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNOLOGY.

    (a) Centers of Excellence for Stormwater Control Infrastructure 
Technologies.--Section 50217(b) of the Infrastructure Investment and 
Jobs Act (33 U.S.C. 1302f(b)) is amended--
            (1) in paragraph (1)(A), by striking ``not less than 3, and 
        not more than 5, centers'' and inserting ``5 centers'';
            (2) in paragraph (4), by striking ``fiscal years 2022 
        through 2026'' and inserting ``fiscal years 2027 through 
        2031'';
            (3) by redesignating paragraph (4) as paragraph (5); and
            (4) by inserting after paragraph (3) the following:
            ``(4) Great lakes center.--Of the centers established under 
        paragraph (1)(A), 1 shall be located in, and focused on, the 
        Great Lakes region.''.
    (b) Authorization of Appropriations.--Section 50217(e)(1) of the 
Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (33 U.S.C. 1302f(e)(1)) is 
amended by striking ``fiscal years 2022 through 2026'' and inserting 
``fiscal years 2027 through 2031''.
                                 <all>
