A BILL
To require the Administrator of the Small Business Administration to
establish procedures for consistency of certain disaster loan outreach
materials, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Disaster Loan Outreach Consistency
Act''.
SEC. 2. PROCEDURES FOR CONSISTENCY OF DISASTER ASSISTANCE OUTREACH
MATERIALS.
(a) Outreach Materials.--Not later than 180 days after the date of
the enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Small Business
Administration shall establish procedures to ensure that outreach
materials, including any press releases and fact sheets, prepared by
each disaster field operations center of the Administration
consistently include accurate and current information regarding--
(1) the terms of the disaster loan program carried out
under section 7(b) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C.
636(b));
(2) any applicable changes to Federal disaster assistance
eligibility processes relevant to applicants for such disaster
loan program; and
(3) such additional information, as determined by the
Administrator.
(b) Procedures.--The procedures established under subsection (a)
shall include--
(1) standardized templates for outreach materials;
(2) a process to verify, before public release, that
outreach materials use the current templates and reflect
current terms and eligibility processes for the disaster loan
program;
(3) a review process to ensure consistency in outreach
materials and templates across disaster field operations
centers, where such review occurs annually and immediately
after any significant changes to such procedures; and
(4) such additional procedures, as determined by the
Administrator.
(c) Notification.--Not later than 30 days after establishing or
making significant changes to the procedures described in subsection
(b), the Administrator shall submit to the Committee on Small Business
of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Small Business and
Entrepreneurship of the Senate a notice of such establishment.
