R. 10658 To direct the Secretary of Commerce to publish, on an annual basis, an assessment on United States dependency on imported, fermentation-based, biomanufacturing inputs, and for other purposes. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES October 1, 2026 Ms. Davids of Kansas (for herself and Mr. Alford) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To direct the Secretary of Commerce to publish, on an annual basis, an assessment on United States dependency on imported, fermentation-based, biomanufacturing inputs, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Critical Biomanufacturing Input Assessment Act''. SEC. 2. CRITICAL BIOMANUFACTURING INPUTS STUDY. The Secretary of Commerce shall, on an annual basis, submit to Congress an assessment of United States dependency on imported biomanufacturing inputs used in solid-state, gas, and continuous fermentation methods, biomass processing equipment, and scalable commercial-grade fermentation tanks of capacity ranging from 1 to over 75,000 liters. <all>
