Plain-English Summary
The federal government would transfer ownership of specific parcels of land to be held in trust for the Las Vegas Tribe of Paiute Indians, giving the tribe greater control over those properties for their community's benefit. This arrangement would allow the tribe to use the land for housing, economic development, or other purposes without the land being subject to state taxes or regulations. The proposal is currently under review by the congressional subcommittee that handles Native American affairs.
