R. 8528 To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to improve access to skilled nursing facilities for primary immunodeficiency patients. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES April 27, 2026 Mr. Smith of Nebraska (for himself and Ms. Matsui) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means, and in addition to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to improve access to skilled nursing facilities for primary immunodeficiency patients. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``PI Post Acute Access Act''. SEC. 2. IMPROVING ACCESS TO SKILLED NURSING FACILITY SERVICES FOR PRIMARY IMMUNODEFICIENCY PATIENTS. (a) In General.--Section 1888(e)(2)(A)(iii) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395yy(e)(2)(A)(iii)) is amended by adding at the end the following new subclause: ``(VII) Intravenous immune globulin indicated for the treatment of primary immune deficiency disease (identified as of January 1, 2026, by HCPCS codes J1561, J1569, J1576, J1568, J1459, J1554, J1557, J1566, and as subsequently modified by the Secretary) and items and services related to the furnishing of such globulin.''. (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to items and services furnished on or after October 1, 2026. <all>
