A BILL
To amend title 18, United States Code, to establish nationwide
concealed carry reciprocity for certain members of the Armed Forces,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. CARRYING OF CONCEALED FIREARMS BY QUALIFIED LAW ENFORCEMENT
OFFICERS AND MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES.
(a) In General.--Section 926B of title 18, United States Code, is
amended--
(1) in the section heading, by adding ``and members of the
Armed Forces'' at the end;
(2) in subsection (a), by inserting ``or a qualified member
of the Armed Forces'' after ``law enforcement officer'';
(3) in subsection (c)--
(A) by redesignating paragraphs (1) through (6) as
subparagraphs (A) through (F), respectively;
(B) by striking ``As used in this section, the
term'' and inserting ``As used in this section:
``(1) The term''; and
(C) by adding at the end the following new
paragraph:
``(2) The term `qualified member of the Armed Forces' means
a member of the Armed Forces who--
``(A) is serving on active duty; and
``(B) completed a military firearms qualification
within the preceding 12 months.''; and
(4) in subsection (d)--
(A) by striking ``is the photographic
identification'' and inserting ``is--
``(1) with respect to a law enforcement officer, the
photographic identification'';
(B) by striking the period at the end and inserting
``; and''; and
(C) by adding at the end the following new
paragraph:
``(2) with respect to a qualified member of the Armed
Forces, a valid Department of Defense common access card (or
successor means of identification) and documentary proof that
the member possesses a valid military firearms
qualification.''.
(b) Clerical Amendment.--The table of sections at the beginning of
chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking the
item relating to section 926B and inserting the following new item:
``926B. Carrying of concealed firearms by qualified law enforcement
officers and members of the Armed
Forces.''.
