R. 8974 To authorize the Development Finance Corporation to invest in Venezuela. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES May 21, 2026 Mr. Issa (for himself and Ms. Salazar) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To authorize the Development Finance Corporation to invest in Venezuela. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. AUTHORIZATION TO INVEST IN VENEZUELA. (a) Removal as Country of Concern.--Section 1402(3) of the BUILD Act of 2018 (22 U.S.C. 9601(3)) is amended-- (1) by striking subparagraph (A); and (2) by redesignating subparagraphs (B) through (G) as subparagraphs (A) through (F), respectively. (b) Investment Authority.--Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Development Finance Corporation may invest in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. <all>
