 To amend the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act to authorize 
 the Secretary of Education to extend paperwork reduction waivers, and 
                          for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. PAPERWORK REDUCTION WAIVER EXTENSION.

    Section 609(a)(2) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education 
Act (20 U.S.C. 1408(a)(2)) is amended--
            (1) in subparagraph (A), by inserting ``(which may be 
        extended by the Secretary in accordance with subparagraph 
        (C))'' after ``4 years'';
            (2) by redesignating subparagraph (C) as subparagraph (D); 
        and
            (3) by inserting after subparagraph (B) the following:
                    ``(C) Extension of waiver.--
                            ``(i) In general.--The Secretary may--
                                    ``(I) in accordance with clause 
                                (ii), grant an extension of the period 
                                of a waiver granted to a State under 
                                subparagraph (A); and
                                    ``(II) grant more than 1 such 
                                extension to a State.
                            ``(ii) Period of extension.--Each extension 
                        granted pursuant to clause (i) may not exceed a 
                        period of 4 years.''.
