                               RESOLUTION

 
 Honoring the 100th anniversary of the American Cleaning Institute and 
recognizing the contributions of the cleaning products industry to the 
      health, safety, and economic vitality of the United States.

Whereas the American Cleaning Institute (ACI) serves to advance the growth and 
        innovation of the United States cleaning products industry by improving 
        people's health and quality of life and protecting the planet;
Whereas ACI is the leading voice of the United States cleaning products 
        industry, representing formulators of soaps, detergents, and general 
        cleaning products, as well as companies that supply ingredients and 
        finished packaging;
Whereas the cleaning products industry has a direct domestic economic impact of 
        $88,000,000,000 supporting nearly 65,000 direct jobs in the United 
        States;
Whereas the combined economic impact of cleaning product manufacturing in the 
        United States supports over $100,000,000,000 in annual output and 
        sustains nearly 125,000 American jobs across the full supply chain in 
        communities in all 50 States.
Whereas ACI was founded in 1926 as the Association of American Soap and 
        Glycerine Producers, rooted in a commitment to science-based approaches 
        to cleaning that keep Americans healthy, safe, and living fulfilled 
        lives;
Whereas, over the course of 100 years, ACI evolved alongside the cleaning 
        products industry, changing its name first to the Soap and Detergent 
        Association and ultimately to the American Cleaning Institute in 2010, 
        to represent the full breadth of cleaning products used in household, 
        commercial, industrial, and institutional settings;
Whereas effective cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting products are essential 
        tools for preventing illness, maintaining safe public spaces, and 
        supporting public confidence in homes, workplaces, schools, health care 
        settings and communities;
Whereas ACI member companies continue to advance safer, more effective, more 
        sustainable, and more convenient cleaning products that meet the needs 
        of consumers, businesses, and institutions;
Whereas ACI and its member companies have been leaders in sustainability, 
        including advancing circular packaging, reducing net carbon emissions, 
        and demonstrating commitment to providing cleaning products that protect 
        the health of people and the planet; and
Whereas 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the American Cleaning Institute, a 
        milestone that reflects a century of science, safety, advocacy, and 
        unwavering commitment to the well-being of the American people: Now, 
        therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) congratulates the American Cleaning Institute on the 
        occasion of its 100th anniversary and honors a century of 
        leadership on behalf of the United States cleaning products 
        industry;
            (2) recognizes the essential role of cleaning product 
        manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors in supporting 
        sizeable and growing American economic output and sustaining 
        numerous American jobs across all 50 States;
            (3) commends ACI and its member companies for their 
        commitment to innovation, sustainability, and science-based 
        leadership;
            (4) welcomes continued partnership with ACI and its member 
        companies as the committees of jurisdiction engages industry 
        leaders on best practices and recommendations for sound public 
        policy; and
            (5) expresses the House of Representatives support for a 
        robust domestic cleaning products industry as it enters its 
        next century of service to the American people.
