                               RESOLUTION

 
Recognizing the 25th pastoral anniversary of Bishop C.T. Wells and the 
                      ministry of Emmanuel Church.

Whereas Bishop C.T. Wells has devoted his life to faith, service, and 
        strengthening communities throughout the city of Portland, Oregon, and 
        beyond;
Whereas Bishop Wells has served as Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Church and Founding 
        Pastor of Emmanuel East Worship and Outreach Center, leading a thriving 
        ministry and serving communities across central and east Portland for 25 
        years;
Whereas Bishop Wells has dedicated himself to developing and mentoring others 
        through preaching, teaching, authorship, and leadership training across 
        the United States and around the world;
Whereas Bishop Wells has extended his ministry beyond the walls of the church 
        through his leadership in advancing efforts to strengthen Portland 
        families through affordable housing, economic opportunity, chronic 
        health support, and early childhood education;
Whereas Bishop Wells has worked to unite communities of faith by bringing 
        together pastors and congregations throughout the Greater Portland area 
        in fellowship, prayer, worship, and shared purpose;
Whereas throughout his decades of ministry, Bishop Wells has demonstrated an 
        enduring commitment to faith, family, mentorship, and service, alongside 
        his wife of more than 38 years, First Lady DeAngeloa S. Wells, their 
        children, and grandchildren; and
Whereas the leadership of Bishop C.T. Wells has touched countless lives and 
        exemplifies the profound difference that dedicated faith and community 
        leadership can make in the lives of individuals, families, and 
        communities: Now, therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) recognizes and celebrates the 25th pastoral anniversary 
        of Bishop C.T. Wells and his distinguished record of spiritual 
        leadership, community service, and unwavering commitment to 
        uplifting the people of Portland and communities throughout the 
        Pacific Northwest and the Nation;
            (2) commends the ministry of Emmanuel Church and spiritual 
        leadership of Bishop C.T. Wells for enduring commitment to 
        supporting the community;
            (3) honors the generations of leaders, staff, volunteers, 
        and community members whose service has supported the tenure of 
        Bishop C.T. Wells over the past 25 years; and
            (4) encourages continued ministry, community service, civic 
        engagement, and spiritual leadership.
