This resolution would formally censure Representative Al Green, a formal statement of disapproval by the House of Representatives that serves as an official rebuke but carries no legal consequences. A censure is one of the strongest disciplinary actions Congress can take against one of its own members, short of expulsion, and would be recorded in the congressional record as a mark against his service. The motion to reconsider has already been tabled, meaning the House has decided not to revisit the vote on this censure.
