[Congressional Bills 119th Congress] [From the U.S. Government Publishing Office] [S. 4532 Introduced in Senate (IS)] <DOC> 119th CONGRESS 2d Session S. 4532 To include smoke in the definition of disaster in the Small Business Act, and for other purposes. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES May 14, 2026 Ms. Cortez Masto introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To include smoke in the definition of disaster in the Small Business Act, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Small Business Wildfire Smoke Recovery Act''. SEC. 2. DEFINITION OF DISASTER. Section 3(k)(2) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 632(k)(2)) is amended-- (1) in subparagraph (B), by striking ``and'' at the end; (2) in subparagraph (C), by striking the period at the end and inserting ``; and''; and (3) by adding at the end the following: ``(D) smoke.''. <all>
