Plain-English Summary

The proposal would make July 20 an official national observance day to commemorate the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969. Americans would be encouraged to recognize this historic achievement in space exploration on that date each year. The designation would apply to all Americans and serve as a reminder of the nation's accomplishment in reaching the moon.
