 following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on 
                  Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs

                                 A BILL

 
   To require the addition of a ticker symbol modifier to securities 
     issued by Chinese military companies, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Know Your Sanctioned Securities 
Act''.

SEC. 2. REQUIREMENT TO ADD TICKER SYMBOL MODIFIER TO CHINESE MILITARY 
              COMPANIES.

    Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, 
the Securities and Exchange Commission shall promulgate rules to 
require the--
            (1) addition of ``CMC'' to the ticker symbol of the 
        securities of any issuer that has been designated on the list 
        published by the Secretary of Defense pursuant to section 1260H 
        of the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense 
        Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 (10 U.S.C. 113 note; 
        Public Law 116-283); and
            (2) the removal of the modifier described in paragraph (1) 
        for any issuer that has been removed from the list described in 
        that paragraph.
