[Congressional Bills 119th Congress] [From the U.S. Government Publishing Office] [S. 5644 Introduced in Senate (IS)] <DOC> 119th CONGRESS 2d Session S. 5644 To amend title 31, United States Code, to exempt transactions with respect to cash reward payments by crime stopper organizations from certain currency transaction reports. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES September 30, 2026 Mrs. Moody introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend title 31, United States Code, to exempt transactions with respect to cash reward payments by crime stopper organizations from certain currency transaction reports. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. CRIME STOPPER ORGANIZATIONS. Section 5313(d)(1) of title 31, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following: ``(E) A nonprofit organization if the transaction is in connection with the nonprofit organization providing a cash reward in exchange for information about a crime.''. <all>
