Plain-English Summary
This bill would protect the personal information of veterans by setting rules for how their benefits data can be collected, stored, and shared by government agencies and private companies. It likely aims to prevent identity theft and unauthorized access to sensitive details like Social Security numbers, medical records, and financial information that veterans provide when applying for or receiving benefits. The legislation would give veterans more control over their personal data and establish penalties for organizations that mishandle or improperly disclose this information.
