Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Defending Women in the Workplace Act''. SEC. 2. RULE OF CONSTRUCTION. For purposes of title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000e et seq.), the terms ``because of sex'' and ``on the basis of sex'' do not include because of or on the basis of gender identity. <all>
