Plain-English Summary

The federal government would provide $500 million to help low-income households pay their water bills, building on a program created during the pandemic. This funding would assist families struggling to afford clean water and sewage services, preventing shutoffs and ensuring access to essential utilities. The money would be distributed through existing assistance programs to reach eligible households across the country.
