This measure would allow certain immigrants who are currently facing deportation to stay in the United States and obtain legal status, though the specific eligibility requirements would be determined by the details in the underlying bill. The proposal affects immigrants and their families who may otherwise be removed from the country, and it would require House approval before moving forward. This is a procedural step that sets the rules for how the House would debate and vote on the immigration proposal.
