Plain-English Summary

The federal government would study whether it's practical to station State Department officials at U.S. Coast Guard and Navy bases in Pacific Island countries to help with diplomatic work. This would allow American diplomats to be more present in the region while working alongside military personnel already stationed there. The analysis would help determine if this arrangement could improve U.S. relationships and operations in the Pacific Islands.
