[Congressional Bills 119th Congress] [From the U.S. Government Publishing Office] [S. 5667 Introduced in Senate (IS)] <DOC> 119th CONGRESS 2d Session S. 5667 To withhold birthright citizenship from individuals born in a United States territory to a mother who is not lawfully present and a father who is not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES September 30, 2026 Mr. Lankford introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To withhold birthright citizenship from individuals born in a United States territory to a mother who is not lawfully present and a father who is not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Ending Birthright Citizenship in U.S. Territories Act''. SEC. 2. LIMITATION ON BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP. Section 301(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1401(a)) is amended by inserting ``excluding any person born in any territory of the United States to a mother who is not lawfully present in such territory and a father who is not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident,'' after ``United States,''. <all>
