Ms. HIRONO submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of subtitle G of title X, add the following: SEC. 1__. SENSE OF CONGRESS RELATING TO INDIAN TRIBES AND NATIVE HAWAIIANS. It is the sense of Congress that the United States, including the Trump Administration, shall uphold the Federal trust and treaty responsibilities to Indian Tribes and Federal obligations to the Native Hawaiian community, including by-- (1) upholding treaty rights, reserved rights, and any other rights and obligations under Federal law; (2) supporting self-determination efforts by Native communities; (3) fulfilling obligations under presidential memoranda and Executive orders; and (4) conducting-- (A) early and robust government-to-government consultation with Indian Tribes; and (B) meaningful outreach and engagement with Native Hawaiians. ______
