Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 145 (Tuesday, September 15, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 145 (Tuesday, September 15, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Page E920] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] CELEBRATING SUNY FREDONIA'S 200TH ANNIVERSARY ______ HON. NICHOLAS A. LANGWORTHY of new york in the house of representatives Tuesday, September 15, 2026 Mr. LANGWORTHY. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the State University of New York at Fredonia as it celebrates its 200th anniversary and two centuries of higher education, service, and impact on generations of students and communities across Western New York. SUNY Fredonia's history began in 1826 with the founding of the Fredonia Academy. Over the past two centuries, that mission has evolved from a small academy into a comprehensive university within the State University of New York system. Throughout its history, Fredonia has remained committed to educating students, preparing future leaders, and strengthening the communities it serves. As Fredonia celebrates this remarkable milestone under the theme ``Celebrating Two Centuries of Impact,'' we honor the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members whose dedication has shaped the university. Their contributions have extended far beyond the classroom, enriching Western New York and making a lasting difference across our state and Nation. Mr. Speaker, I ask that the United States House of Representatives join me in recognizing SUNY Fredonia on its 200th anniversary and in celebrating its enduring contributions to Western New York, the State of New York, and the generations of Americans it has served. ____________________
