Rep. Norcross Releases Statement on Trump’s State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) released the following statement on President Trump's State of the Union address to Congress: "Tonight's State of the Union address made one thing clear: Donald Trump has failed the American people. Families are already struggling with high costs, and Trump's policies have only made life more expensive. Trump's tariff tax hurts American workers and his Big Ugly Law resulted in the largest cuts to healthcare and food assistance in U.S. history. "At the same time, Trump's ICE has been terrorizing our communities, instilling fear into our children, and murdering Americans on our streets. We all want to see violent criminals locked up but what we are experiencing across the nation is that every day Americans are paying the price. We need transparency, accountability, and rule of law. Trump's ICE has got to go. "I will continue fighting to lower costs, protect access to healthcare and food assistance, raise the federal minimum wage, and hold the Trump Administration accountable. Until working families feel secure in their finances, safe in their communities, and confident in their future, we cannot honestly say that the state of our Union is strong." ###
