WASHINGTON - In honor of Small Business Week, Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) and the RGV Partnership recognized the vital contributions of South Texas small business owners who have made an impact in the Rio Grande Valley community. Following the event, De La Cruz joined the City of San Juan for the grand opening of the new recreation center. Having secured $2 million for the facility in FY24, she joined local leaders to celebrate the project officially coming to life. De La Cruz honors Gilbert Morin Perez, owner of Fresh Coat Painters of McAllen and winner of the Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year, with a special certificate of Congressional recognition. De La Cruz joins City of San Juan officials and community leaders to celebrate the opening of the San Juan Parks and Recreation facility. In FY24, De La Cruz secured $2M in federal funding to bring this project to fruition.
