Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026)] [Senate] [Page S4754] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] REMEMBERING TOM ROSE Mr. HUSTED. Madam President, during this August State work period, Springboro, OH, lost a great man and fierce champion for justice. Tom Rose passed away on August 15, surrounded by the family that he so dearly loved. Tom was well-known to Ohio Members of Congress and their staffs as a volunteer advocate for the Delphi Salaried Retirees Association, relentlessly advocating for the restoration of his and his coworker's lost pensions and passage of the Susan Muffley Act. This advocacy came after Tom spent his entire career at General Motors/Delphi, using his background in mechanical engineering. Yet you would only need one conversation with Tom to understand he had many passions, often centered around service to others. After college, Tom served our great Nation in Vietnam as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was a volunteer at the Wright B. Flyer Museum and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed golfing and cheering on his Bengals, Reds, and Flyers. Tom was always eager to discuss the Dayton Flyers most recent basketball game. However, Tom's greatest passion was his family. My prayers go out to Tom's wife Jaci, their children, grandchildren, and the entire Rose family. May God bless Tom Rose. ____________________
