RECOGNIZING MAURA DRUMM AS A RECIPIENT OF THE 2026 IRISH ECHO LABOR AWARD

Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Pages E941-E942] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] RECOGNIZING MAURA DRUMM AS A RECIPIENT OF THE 2026 IRISH ECHO LABOR AWARD ______ HON. BRENDAN F. BOYLE of pennsylvania in the house of representatives Wednesday, September 16, 2026 Mr. BOYLE of Pennsylvania. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Maura Drumm on being recognized as a 2026 Irish Echo Labor Awards honoree for her outstanding work as Media Coordinator and Communications Project Manager for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. I am proud to say that [[Page E942]] Maura was born and raised in my district in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Maura earned a bachelor's degree from the Catholic University of America in 2017 and a master's degree from American University in 2020. Not long after graduation, Maura began working at the United States Department of Agriculture and at the Biden White House. During her time in the Biden Administration, she worked in both the Press Office and the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). At CEQ, Maura and her team advanced President Biden's goal of ensuring that the federal government's transition to clean energy and sustainable operations created and supported good-paying union jobs. Following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather, Maura became a proud third-generation Teamster last July when she took on her current role with the union. Since joining the Teamsters, Maura's hard work, kindness, and commitment to the labor movement have been recognized and appreciated by all in the workplace. Those important traits are exactly what propelled her to becoming a 2026 recipient of the Irish Echo Labor Awards. The Irish Echo--our Nation's oldest Irish American newspaper-- established the Labor Awards to recognize exceptional Irish American contributors to the United States labor movement. I can think of few individuals more deserving of this honor than Maura, who is joining remarkable company in receiving it. I know her parents, Christopher and Maureen, and her sisters, Bridget, Caitlin, and Erin, are proud. Mr. Speaker, it is altogether fitting that the House recognizes Maura Drumm for this incredible achievement. ____________________
