HONORING RANDY JOE HOPPERT, JR. Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 73 (Monday, April 27, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 73 (Monday, April 27, 2026)] [House] [Page H3120] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] HONORING RANDY JOE HOPPERT, JR. (Mr. VALADAO asked and was given permission to address the House for 1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.) Mr. VALADAO. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor the life and service of Deputy Randy Joe Hoppert, Jr., of Tulare County Sheriff's Department. On April 9, Deputy Hoppert was tragically killed in the line of duty while serving the people of Tulare County. A proud Central Valley native, he committed his life to helping others. After graduating from El Diamante High School, he answered the call to protect our Nation in the U.S. Navy before returning to home to work in the sheriff's department. During his 6 years on the force, he served in the patrol division as a detective, with the CATTCH Unit, and on the SWAT team as a medic. Those who knew him speak of a man who led with integrity, cared about his community, and worked every day to make a difference. Deputy Hoppert is survived by his wife, Ashley; his children, Austin, Everett, and unborn son Levi; and his parents, Stacy and Randy, Sr. Deputy Hoppert's service and sacrifice will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed. ____________________
