WASHINGTON - U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Tina Smith (D-MN) are calling on the United States Postal Service (USPS) Postmaster General David Steiner to reconsider the decision to close the Hunt's Silver Lake Postal Station in Rochester. Hunt's Silver Lake Postal Station is set to close June 25, 2026. "We write to express opposition to the United States Postal Service's decision to terminate its contract for the post office located at 1510 North Broadway Avenue in Rochester, Minnesota, with service discontinuing on June 25, 2026," wrote Klobuchar. "Whether it is a small business owner sending time-sensitive documents, an entrepreneur delivering products to a new customer, or simply a person staying connected with family and friends, Minnesotans rely on their local post office every day.
