Mr. DAINES submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of subtitle E of title XII, add the following: SEC. 1271. TERMINATION OF APPLICATION OF TITLE IV OF THE TRADE ACT OF 1974 TO PRODUCTS OF CERTAIN COUNTRIES. (a) Presidential Determinations and Extension of Nondiscriminatory Treatment.--Notwithstanding any provision of title IV of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 U.S.C. 2431 et seq.), the President may-- (1) determine that such title should no longer apply to a covered country; and (2) after making a determination under paragraph (1) with respect to a covered country, proclaim the extension of nondiscriminatory treatment (normal trade relations treatment) to the products of the covered country. (b) Termination of Applicability of Title IV.--On and after the effective date under subsection (a)(2) of the extension of nondiscriminatory treatment to the products of a covered country, title IV of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 U.S.C. 2431 et seq.) shall cease to apply to the covered country. (c) Covered Country Defined.--In this section, the term ``covered country'' means any country excluding Belarus, Cuba, and North Korea. ______
