Chairman Womack Leads Hearing for Lawmakers to Share Transportation and Housing Funding Requests

WASHINGTON, D.C. — March 25, 2026… Today, House Appropriations Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD), and Related Agencies Subcommittee Chairman Steve Womack (AR-3) led an open hearing, in which all Members of the House of Representatives were invited to testify on their priorities for the Fiscal Year 2027 THUD Appropriations bill. Chairman Womack delivered the following remarks during the hearing, “Today, we welcome our colleagues to testify on their priorities for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Transportation for Fiscal Year 2027. Member engagement is key to the appropriations process, and especially important for our bill, because every district has housing and transportation assets. As a former Mayor, I value the local perspective from districts nationwide. That’s why I am looking forward to hearing from our colleagues.” Chairman Womack’s full remarks as prepared are available HERE . A full recording of the hearing is available HERE . Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee. womack.house.gov ###
