Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Page E944] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] HONORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF FORMER WEST LAFAYETTE POLICE CHIEF DAN MARVIN ______ HON. JAMES R. BAIRD of indiana in the house of representatives Wednesday, September 16, 2026 Mr. BAIRD. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor former West Lafayette Police Chief Dan Marvin, who passed away recently at the age of 62. Dan Marvin was an exemplary leader in the West Lafayette community, dedicating 30 years to its police force, including nine as chief. During his time on the force, Dan was selected as president of the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police, served on multiple special FBI task forces, and was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash, issued by the Governor of Indiana. Dan was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing for walleye and pike. He also hunted whitetail deer and moose. Being a son, husband, father, and grandfather meant everything to him. Dan's love for his family knew no bounds. However, most important in his life was a love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. May Dan rest in peace. I thank him, sincerely, for a life well lived. ____________________
