Mr. SCOTT of South Carolina submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of subtitle B of title XII, insert the following: SEC. 1218. STATEMENT OF POLICY ON REPEAL OF SUNSET OF IRAN SANCTIONS ACT OF 1996. (a) Findings.--Congress makes the following findings: (1) The Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 (Public Law 104-172; 50 U.S.C. 1701 note) requires the imposition of sanctions with respect to Iran's illicit weapons programs, conventional weapons and ballistic missile development, and support for terrorism, including Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps. (2) The Government of Iran has acquired destabilizing conventional weapons systems from the Russian Federation and other malign actors, and is funneling weapons and financial support to its terrorist proxies throughout the Middle East, threatening allies and partners of the United States, such as Israel. (b) Statement of Policy.--It is the policy of the United States to repeal the sunset provision in the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 (Public Law 104-172; 50 U.S.C. 1701 note). ______
