Mrs. SHAHEEN submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill S. 4784, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2027 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of subtitle B of title XII, add the following: SEC. 1218. LEBANON ILLICIT GOODS AND FINANCES PROGRAM. The Secretary of State shall establish a program to provide support to strengthen the capacity of Lebanese security institutions to identify, track, and improve their forensics detection capabilities with respect to financial crimes and production and trafficking of Captagon and other illicit goods that provide a source of revenue for Hezbollah and other malign actors. ______
