On 2026-09-16, Representative Mark B. Messmer (R-IN-8) delivered a floor speech titled "RECOGNIZING ROBERT H. "HANK" MENKE" in the House.
RECOGNIZING ROBERT H. "HANK" MENKE Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 146 (Wednesday, September 16, 2026)] [House] [Page H5836] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] RECOGNIZING ROBERT H. ``HANK'' MENKE (Mr. MESSMER asked and was given permission to address the House for 1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.) Mr. MESSMER. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Robert H. Menke, or Hank, to most people. Hank is a third-generation Hoosier business leader from my home district in Indiana. For more than five decades, Hank Menke has dedicated his career to American manufacturing and to the Hoosiers in Indiana. After earning his degree in industrial engineering and starting his career in North Carolina, he soon returned to southern Indiana to join his family's furniture business. In 1982, he became president of the family company, Styline Industries, and under his leadership, it evolved from a residential furniture manufacturer into a leading producer of office, healthcare, and hospitality furniture, employing more than 1,900 people. Hank Menke's legacy is about more than just the furniture business. He has built a culture centered on integrity, service, strong relationships, and giving back to his community. In 2017, he was inducted into the Dubois County Business Hall of Fame, which honored his leadership and his contributions to the local economy. Mr. Speaker, I know I am joined by many other Hoosiers as we celebrate the remarkable career of Hank Menke. I thank him for his continued commitment to Huntingburg, Dubois County, and everyone in the great State of Indiana. ____________________
