These committees and caucuses reflect my priorities of strengthening America’s energy independence, making communities safer, and tackling high costs,” said Congressman Evans. The Energy and Commerce Committee selected Congressman Evans , marking a historical milestone as he becomes the first incoming freshman to be assigned a seat in 14 years. Within the Energy and Commerce Committee, he will serve on the Energy, Environment, and Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade subcommittees. This assignment is particularly well-suited to Congressman Evans, who represents Weld County, one of the nation’s leading energy-producing regions and the top producer of oil and gas in Colorado. “What happens in the People’s House affects people in their homes, and that is especially true of the Committee on Energy and Commerce. Congressman Evans will be a crucial part of our work to remove the burdensome regulations that have suffocated our energy industry and show the world that America is back open for business.
