Blackburn Joins President Trump in Memphis to Tout Success of Memphis Safe Task Force

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after joining President Trump in Memphis to highlight the remarkable progress the Memphis Safe Task Force has made in restoring law and order. Compared to the same period last year, Memphis has seen a 43% reduction in overall crime. "Before the Memphis Safe Task Force, Memphians could not walk outside without fear of being robbed, assaulted, or murdered as criminals and gangs turned neighborhoods into war zones. Under President Trump, those days are in the rearview mirror," said Senator Blackburn . "For years, I have worked with state and local officials in Memphis to get this historic city the federal resources it needed and turn the tide of violence once and for all. Law-abiding citizens deserve safe cities, and President Trump has made the Make America Safe Again movement a hallmark of his agenda."
