$9 Million to Rebuild and Strengthen Power Grid Congratulations to the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation on receiving an additional $8.97 million in FEMA funding to complete permanent repairs to our power transmission and distribution systems following Super Typhoon Yutu. This latest award builds on more than $84 million already invested to restore and strengthen our islands’ electrical infrastructure. The project has replaced more than 2,100 damaged wooden power poles with stronger concrete poles and upgraded critical equipment across Saipan and Tinian.
