Mr. HICKENLOOPER submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 2, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of S. Con. Res. 33; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. _. FULLY FUNDING THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR ATMOSPHERIC RESEARCH. (a) Reduction of Funds for ICE.--Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, the amount appropriated under section 202 to the Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for fiscal year 2026 shall be reduced by $1,000,000,000. (b) Appropriation for National Center for Atmospheric Research.--In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated to the Director of the National Science Foundation for fiscal year 2026, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $1,000,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2031, for the purposes of fully funding the National Center [[Page S2533]] for Atmospheric Research for not less than 5 years, thereby supporting modeling and prediction of severe weather events, space weather, and wildfire impacts. ______
