Turner Announces Service Academy Nominations

DAYTON, OHIO - This weekend, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) honored nine exceptional students from the Miami Valley who have received nominations to prestigious United States service academies. "We honored nine incredible students from our community that have answered the call to service of this great nation. There is nothing more honorable than serving your community and country." Said Congressman Mike Turner. "Every year I nominate students to these prestigious service academies, I have a renowned sense of hope, knowing that our country is in good hands with these future officers." This year, nine students received nominations from Congressman Turner and were accepted into the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy, and the United States Air Force academy. Each student underwent a rigorous selection process that included academic qualifications, character and leadership evaluations, physical and medical fitness assessments, and motivational interviews. The honored students are: - Tucker Culpepper, recently graduated from ICL Academy from Xenia, Ohio - U.S. Military Academy at West Point - Audrey Welch, recently graduated from Beavercreek High School from Beavercreek, Ohio - U.S. Air Force Academy - Macie Roberts, recently graduated from Beavercreek High School from Beavercreek, Ohio - U.S. Air Force Academy - Samuel Wierzbanowski, recently graduated from Archbishop Alter High School from Dayton, Ohio - U.S. Air Force Academy - Jia Sundell-Turner, recently graduated from Yellow Springs High School from Yellow Springs, Ohio - U.S. Air Force Academy - Brendan Ried, recently graduated from Centerville High School from Centerville, Ohio - U.S. Naval Academy - Samaria Williams, recently graduated from Centerville High School from Centerville, Ohio - U.S. Naval Academy - Owen Tarjanyi, recently graduated from Wayne High School from Huber Heights, Ohio - U.S. Air Force Academy - Benajmin Rodriguez, recently graduated from Northwestern Preparatory School from Beavercreek, Ohio - U.S. Air Force Academy
