HONORING MT. ZION MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 158 (Tuesday, October 6, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 158 (Tuesday, October 6, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Pages E1040-E1041] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] HONORING MT. ZION MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH ______ HON. CLEO FIELDS of louisiana in the house of representatives Tuesday, October 6, 2026 Mr. FIELDS. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Alexandria, Louisiana, a strong and enduring faith community rooted in Christian belief and guided by the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Founded upon a commitment to spiritual development and sincere worship, the church has long served as a place where individuals and families can encounter God, grow in grace, and walk faithfully in their Christian journey. With Baptist teachings as its foundation, Mt. Zion emphasizes sound doctrine, heartfelt preaching, and a worship experience centered on glorifying God. Recognizing the vital importance of nurturing spiritual maturity, the church offers a range of ministries designed to support believers at every stage of life. Regular worship services, Bible study opportunities, prayer gatherings, and small-group discipleship help members strengthen their understanding of Scripture and draw nearer to God. These ministries serve not only as teaching tools but also as avenues for fellowship, encouragement, and personal transformation, as members seek to live out their faith inside and outside the church walls. In addition to its internal ministries, Mt. Zion is deeply committed to serving the broader community. Through outreach programs, service initiatives, and partnerships that address practical needs, the church strives to embody Christ's love in meaningful and tangible ways. Whether providing support to families, encouraging youth, ministering to seniors, or responding to the needs of the underserved, Mt. [[Page E1041]] Zion has been a steady and compassionate presence in the lives of countless individuals across Central Louisiana. This long history of service reflects the church's understanding that faith is not only professed on Sunday, but lived out each day in care for one's neighbors. The impact of Mt. Zion extends well beyond its own membership. As a congregation of Alexandria, it contributes to the strength of the broader faith community, standing alongside other churches in the shared work of nurturing faith, supporting families, and meeting the needs of those who are struggling. Its commitment to sound teaching and to practical service sets an example for the many who worship there and for those in the community who look to the church for guidance, encouragement, and help in times of need. Above all, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church seeks to be a beacon of hope, love, and service, shining the light of Christ in a world that needs encouragement and spiritual grounding. The church remains steadfast in its mission to uplift the community, equip believers, and extend the message of salvation with unwavering faith. As it moves forward, Mt. Zion continues to embrace its calling to serve, inspire, and transform lives through the unchanging truth of God's Word. Mr. Speaker, I urge my colleagues to join me in acknowledging Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and its dedicated congregation for its endearing legacy of spreading the Word of God and its commitment to the Alexandria and Central Louisiana community. May Mt. Zion continue to be a source of faith, hope, and service for generations to come. ____________________
