Chairman Wicker and Sen. Banks Commend Groundbreaking of New Munitions Campus in Indiana

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and U.S. Senator Jim Banks, R-IN, issued the following statement regarding the new munitions campus in Indiana: "We commend the groundbreaking of the new munitions campus in Bloomfield, Indiana, which will deliver expanded domestic production of high-performance energetics and solid rocket motors. This transformative public-private partnership represents a major step forward in rebuilding and modernizing America-s defense industrial base at a critical time for our national security. This munitions campus is exactly the kind of bold, forward-looking project required to restore American industrial strength and maintain our military edge for decades to come. The project also highlights the benefits of competition in our munitions industrial base and the leading role new companies must play in munitions production. The components set for production in Bloomfield are essential for key weapons systems and will enable President Trump to rebuild the military and keep our country safe. "This initiative is made possible by the Defense Production Act-s initial $75 million investment from 2023, as well as more than $600 million in private capital which saves hardworking taxpayer money. We look forward to the department bolstering these efforts with the $150 million we secured through the One Big Beautiful Bill for America. We look forward to the campus reaching initial operations in 2027 and to the lasting benefits it will deliver for our troops, our economy, and the security of the United States."
