Kennedy announces $1.9 million in aid for Hurricanes Laura, Ida and Francine

WASHINGTON - Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced Louisiana will receive $1,869,915 million in federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for disaster recovery efforts and repairs in south Louisiana communities impacted by Hurricanes Laura, Ida and Francine. "Hurricanes Laura, Ida and Francine are natural disasters that have deeply impacted communities across our state. This $1.9 million will help south Louisiana - including folks in Jefferson, St. John the Baptist and Calcasieu Parishes - rebuild and cover the costs of these severe storms," said Kennedy. The FEMA aid will fund the following: $556,517 to Creation Full Gospel Baptist Church to fund building exterior, building interior repair or replacement as a result of Hurricane Ida. $375,000 to the Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund to fund costs related to the Management of PA Grants as a result of Hurricane Ida. $266,608 for DEMCO (Dixie Electric Membership Corporation) to fund costs related to the Management of PA Grants as a result of Hurricane Francine. $223,579 for Jefferson Parish to fund jurisdiction-wide debris removal as a result of Hurricane Ida damage. $200,944 for St. John the Baptist Parish to fund emergency measures to lessen threats to public health, safety and property as a result of Hurricane Ida. $144,797 for St. Jude's Nursing Home to fund emergency measures to lessen threats to public health, safety and property as a result of Hurricane Ida. $102,470 for Shiloh Baptist Church of Lake Charles to fund building exterior, building interior repair or replacement after Hurricane Laura damage.
