Mr. BLUMENTHAL submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 2, to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of S. Con. Res. 33.; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: SEC. ___. DOJ OIG INVESTIGATION. The Inspector General of the Department of Justice shall conduct an investigation into the allegations of excessive drinking by and unreachability of Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel and any associated impacts on the readiness of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and public safety using such amounts as are necessary from amounts made available under section 90007 of the Act entitled ``An Act to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of H. Con. Res. 14'', approved July 4, 2025 (Public Law 119-21; 139 Stat. 361) (commonly known as the ``One Big Beautiful Bill Act''), which the Secretary of Homeland Security shall transfer to the Inspector General of the Department of Justice upon request. ______
