Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 161 (Thursday, October 15, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 161 (Thursday, October 15, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Page E1083] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] HONORING MEGAN PHILBROOK FOR BEING NAMED NEW HAMPSHIRE'S 2026 TEACHER OF THE YEAR ______ HON. CHRIS PAPPAS of new hampshire in the house of representatives Thursday, October 15, 2026 Mr. PAPPAS. Mr. Speaker, I rise today in honor of New Hampshire's 2026 Teacher of the Year, Megan Philbrook. For 11 years, Megan has dedicated her life to education centered around creating a substantive impact on the lives of middle-school students who come through her classroom. Through her creativity, passion for pedagogy, and enthusiasm to lift students and co-educators alike, she embodies all of what it means to be an amazing teacher. Currently, Megan wears her heart on her sleeve at Andover Elementary/ Middle School, where she has taught fifth through eighth grade history since 2017. Since she graduated from Wheaton in 2014, she has always cared deeply about her students. In the classroom, her inquiry-based teaching style strives to immerse students in the material through hands-on activities such as model construction and historical reenactments to show them how fun history can be. Megan always has a smile on her face and is not only ready to teach her students, but is also ready to learn from them. The care and dedication Megan has for her community extends beyond the material. Megan's infectious passion for education shows itself every day through her mission to help teachers and students find joy in their work. For Megan, to make learning magical is not reserved just for students; it is for teachers too. Going forth, her goal will be to connect teachers with underused resources such as grants, professional development opportunities, and local partnerships to provide students with purposeful learning experiences. On behalf of the constituents of New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District, I congratulate Megan on being named New Hampshire's 2026 Teacher of the Year. I wish Megan, her family, and her students all the best in the years to come as she continues inspiring the next generation of Granite Staters. ____________________
