Wittman Congratulates Winners of Virginia’s First District 2025 Congressional App Challenge

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) met with the winners of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for Virginia’s First District. The winning app, TroopCompanion, was developed by students Faribah Nuha, Jay Chauhan, Obaloluwa Ogunade, and Jack Gardner of Deep Run High School in Glen Allen, Virginia. “It was an honor to meet Faribah Nuha, Jay Chauhan, Obaloluwa Ogunade, and Jack Gardner and learn more about their winning app," said Rep. Wittman. “Their innovation, dedication, and commitment to serving others are truly impressive, and I was proud to celebrate their achievements here in our nation’s capital.” You can watch a video demonstration of the app here . The Congressional App Challenge is designed to encourage students’ participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education fields. This nationwide event allows middle and high school students from across the country to compete against their peers by creating and exhibiting their software application, or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.
