Ms. HIRONO submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill H.R. 6938, making consolidated appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the appropriate place, insert the following: Sec. ___. Not later than 120 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Agriculture shall submit to Congress a report describing-- (1) an assessment of staffing needs across the Forest Service required to maintain capacity in and ensure successful delivery of the programs for which amounts are made available by this Act; and [[Page S222]] (2) the number of employees in the Forest Service as of-- (A) the date on which the report is submitted; and (B) January 1 of the year in which the report is submitted and January 1 of each of the previous 9 calendar years. ______
