HONORING TOP DOG JUNNY

Congressional Record, Volume 171 Issue 57 (Monday, March 31, 2025) [Congressional Record Volume 171, Number 57 (Monday, March 31, 2025)] [House] [Page H1344] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [ www.gpo.gov ] HONORING TOP DOG JUNNY (Mr. HARIDOPOLOS asked and was given permission to address the House for 1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.) Mr. HARIDOPOLOS. Madam Speaker, we honor the life of our district's finest. Junny, the beloved police bloodhound and trusted partner of Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, sadly passed away this week after a battle with cancer. Gifted to the sheriff's office at just 10 weeks old, Junny was brought onto the force to help find missing and abducted children and played a role in Sheriff Ivey's advocacy programs to report abuse. In 2022, Junny was named Florida's Top Dog for enforcement, winning a statewide March Madness-style competition held by the Florida Sheriffs Association. Often seen with Sheriff Ivey while on patrol, Junny became more than just a loyal working dog. He was a symbol of service and loyalty. To Brevard County, he was America's top police dog. He will be deeply missed. ____________________
