Mr. CRUZ submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the joint resolution S.J. Res. 98, to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against Venezuela that have not been authorized by Congress; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows: At the end of section 1, add the following: (5) In 1950, Venezuela had one of the world's strongest economies, ranking as the fourth wealthiest country in the world by GDP per capita. (6) Venezuela holds the largest proven oil reserves in the world and the largest proven gold reserves in Latin America. (7) Under the leadership of Nicolas Maduro, Venezuela adopted socialist policies that crippled the country's economy, caused acute humanitarian crises, and triggered the mass displacement of the Venezuelan population. ______
